BREEDING FOR THE LONGTAILS

neck and shoulder of the hen

Back to Breeding For The Longtails Page One

As with the males, the neck should be elegant, long-ish and the breast should be prominent. A hen with such refinements will give us very refined sons.

Note here the very full saddle area, and the horizontally-carried back. The comb is not the new "rising comb" form, but it is very beautifully cut and neatly small.

Use the genetic group above as a case-study for the form of both hen and rooster. The extreme refinements of the hens (sister to the roosters) in the picture I took in 2001 in Germany are equal to those of the young roosters. The hen in the foreground shows exceptional sickles!

You are visitor number since January 31, 2001. Thank you for visiting us!
