This images shows 3 young Red Shouldered Yokohamas
with promising feathering but a little light in colouring. The cockerel
in the middle of the picture is showing the tell-tale signs, however, of
deeper pigmentation in the odd balck feather here and there. Selection is
underway in Bruce's programme to re-pool this pigmentation in the genetic
material available to him in America, to deepen the shoulder colour shield
to deep oxblood and the breast to a medium rich oxblood.
