 The birds above and below were the basis for the breeding programme of Andreas Brinkmann. This cock shows the typical "at rest" position. The colouration seems to be a silver wheaten with mottling. In German it is referred to as Silberwildfarbig, in reference to its silver colouration and its moult when not in peak breeding season. |
 In this illustration from Japan, we see yet another type. Here the tail and body stance is closer to that of the Satsumadori. Also the points of comb and wattles as well as stance and curvature of the tail feathers tend in the direction of the Satsumadori. | |
 This illustration shows the feathered dewlap on the hen - corresponding with the larger, bare dewlap (seen at left) on the males. Not all Koeyoshi have this aspect, but it seems that the best-sounding crowers have this fleshy addition to their necks. |

 This shot was taken right after our Crowing Championship in Germany in 2001. This bird (dipicted also on the right) won Best Koe Yoshi at the show. Here one can see the stance the Koe Yoshi assumes when crowing. At times, the cock will lower his wings as if to support himself from the strenuous task of crowing so long! |
